The Town of Bow Mar has adopted the 2020 Model Traffic Code for Colorado.  As part of the revisions to the 2020 Model Traffic Code, state law allows a municipality to elect whether they will allow golf carts on municipal roadways. Bow Mar adopted an ordinance (8-8) which states that a golf cart may only be operated on public roads by a licensed driver.   While being operated on a roadway in the town, between the hours of sunset and sunrise, the golf cart must be equipped with two headlights and two taillights which are visible at a distance of 500 ft.  Additionally, golf carts must be operated in accordance with state and local laws, which means all traffic laws apply (i/e stopping at stop signs).

Please remember, once you leave the Town of Bow Mar you are subject to the regulations of that jurisdiction.  You should call and familiarize yourself with the law in each jurisdiction prior to operating a golf cart on their roadways.
